For all levels
Beginners, intermediate riders and downhill experts will all find trails suited to their level. From learning areas to more challenging lines, the Portes du Soleil let everyone progress at their own pace while enjoying an exceptional Alpine setting.
When it comes to mountain biking in the mountains, it’s hard not to mention the Portes du Soleil. Straddling France and Switzerland, this cross-border area has become one of the must-ride destinations for mountain bikers, offering a wide variety of trails, bike-friendly lifts and a strong cycling culture shared across all its resorts.
Here, mountain biking comes in all forms: downhill, freeride, enduro, e-bike, flow trails, technical tracks, learning zones and more challenging lines. One of the area’s greatest advantages is the ability to move from one sector to another with a single pass, linking several bike parks without the need for shuttles or complicated logistics.
Whether you are a beginner, an experienced rider or someone who enjoys long days on the bike, the Portes du Soleil offer exceptional diversity: 5 bike parks, each with its own identity, terrain, level of challenge and riding style. Here is our guide to help you understand the unique features of each area before hitting the trails.
Avoriaz Bike Park
The progressive riding destination
Located in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, Avoriaz Bike Park is an excellent starting point for exploring the mountain bike area. One of its greatest advantages is its direct access from the resort: here, you can start riding straight from the centre of Avoriaz, with no need for a shuttle. The different sectors are connected by lifts, making it easy to link trails together and return to the resort by bike, once again without relying on shuttle transport.
Avoriaz Bike Park is made up of four complementary sectors: Super Morzine, Séraussaix, Lindarets and Proclou. Each offers a different riding experience, from flow trails and more technical tracks to enduro and e-bike routes, as well as links to the other bike parks within the Portes du Soleil. This diversity allows riders to tailor their day according to their level, goals and riding style.

Avoriaz stands out for its progressive approach to mountain biking. Beginner riders will find accessible trails, fun areas and routes designed to build confidence, while more experienced riders can take on faster, more technical and more demanding lines. The Pop Corn Bike Yard is the perfect place to develop core skills, improve line choice and practise first movements in a dedicated progression area.
For riders looking for more excitement, the freestyle zone complements the offer with features, jumps and lines designed to refine bike handling skills and add an aerial dimension to each session. Between flow trails, downhill tracks, enduro and e-bike routes, learning areas and freestyle zones, Avoriaz delivers a complete riding experience in a varied landscape of alpine meadows, forests and panoramic mountain views.
It is also a strategic hub for exploring the other bike parks of the Portes du Soleil, including Morzine, Châtel and Région Dents du Midi. For riders who want to combine progression, long riding days, direct trail access and hassle-free returns to the resort, Avoriaz ticks all the boxes.
Morzine Bike Park
The historic spirit of mountain biking
Morzine is one of the most iconic names in mountain biking and downhill riding. The Pléney sector is one of the historic riding spots of the Portes du Soleil, with a strong gravity culture and trails that appeal to both regular riders and dedicated downhill enthusiasts.
Morzine’s terrain is defined by forest trails, natural berms, roots, fast sections and more technical lines depending on the conditions. It is a bike park where riding skills truly matter: trail reading, braking, traction management and line choice are all key elements of the experience.
Accessible to a wide range of abilities, Morzine is especially popular with riders who enjoy classic downhill trails with plenty of flow, elevation change and character. It is the ideal place to develop your riding skills, rack up laps and experience the iconic bike atmosphere of the valley.

Les Gets Bike Park
Technical and playful riding.
Les Gets is one of the leading mountain biking destinations in the Alps. A historic cycling resort that regularly hosts major international events, it offers a comprehensive bike park designed for both beginners and experienced riders.
The area stands out for the diversity of its trails and dedicated zones: flow lines, more technical tracks, fun areas, a jump park, children’s zones and progression-focused sectors. It is an excellent bike park for groups of mixed abilities, as every rider can find terrain suited to their level and riding style.
For riders looking to refine their skills, Les Gets provides plenty of opportunities. Berms, features, forest sections, jump lines and more demanding trails create a varied riding experience. Accessible, playful and challenging at the same time, it is the perfect place to progress while enjoying every run.

Châtel Bike Park
A playground for experienced riders
Châtel Bike Park is one of the most demanding sectors in the Portes du Soleil. Here, the level clearly steps up: the trails are more physical, faster and require solid riding skills. It is a destination designed for riders who are already confident on their bikes and comfortable managing speed, line choice, berms and technical sections.
The Pré-la-Joux sector offers a highly varied terrain with trails that each have a strong identity. Riders will find carefully shaped lines, berms, features, jumps, technical sections and routes that require commitment and precision. Châtel is a bike park where riders come to find rhythm, intensity and genuine riding sensations.
To make the most of the experience, it is recommended to already have some bike park experience. Several trails require strong technical foundations, particularly when it comes to speed control, braking and jump landings. While the area offers different difficulty levels, its DNA is clearly geared towards a more athletic and committed style of riding.
For experienced riders looking to challenge themselves, refine their skills and ride demanding trails, Châtel is an essential stop in the Portes du Soleil.

Région Dents du Midi
The Swiss side, between downhill and enduro
On the Swiss side, Région Dents du Midi adds another dimension to the Portes du Soleil mountain bike area. Between Champéry, Les Crosets and Morgins, the bike park offers downhill trails, enduro routes and itineraries suited to several riding levels.
This sector is especially interesting for riders looking for a more alpine experience, with open landscapes, varied connections and trails that can feel more natural. Région Dents du Midi is also known for its technical tracks, particularly around Champéry, where downhill culture is deeply rooted.
It is a bike park worth exploring to enjoy new sensations and go beyond the classic French sectors of the area. Riders will find a mix of accessible trails, more demanding lines and enduro routes, offering a different way to ride through technique, endurance and discovery on the Swiss side.

Which Bike Park Should You Choose in the Portes du Soleil?
