How does
departure
from Avoriaz work?
Avoriaz’s streets remain pedestrian only in both winter and summer. Your car is parked near the resort, so when it’s time to leave, you’ll need to get to the car park with your luggage. Welcome staff and the resort’s transport services can help you with this final stage of your stay.
What you need to do depends mainly on when you leave. On Saturday mornings, speak to a member of the welcome staff near your residence. If you’re leaving at another time, request transport once you and your luggage are ready outside your accommodation.
Before leaving your accommodation
Check with your accommodation provider when you need to return your keys. Pack your luggage in compact, securely closed bags, and make sure everyone and everything is ready before requesting transport. Check the weather and road conditions for your journey home, too.
Leaving on Saturday? If your plans allow, you can put most of your luggage in your car late on Friday. That way, you’ll have less to carry on Saturday morning.
Leaving on Saturday morning, step by step
- 1. Be ready outside your residence
Between 8:00 and 11:00 a.m., come outside with your luggage and wait near your residence. Keep your group together to make departure easier.
- 2. Speak to a welcome staff member
Look for a staff member wearing an “Accueil” vest and let them know you’re ready to leave. Staff will be near the residences to guide guests and arrange transport.
During this Saturday morning period, please do not call the transport service. Speak directly to a staff member on site.
- 3. Return to your vehicle
Follow the staff member’s directions to the covered or outdoor car park where you left your car. You can then load your luggage and set off.
Saturdays are particularly busy. If your schedule is flexible, the Tourist Office recommends leaving before 9:00 a.m.
Plan ahead for the Saturday morning rush
To make your departure easier and avoid the busiest period, you can put most of your luggage in your car late on Friday. You can then leave independently on Saturday morning without waiting for resort transport.

Once your luggage is ready, wait outside your residence and call +33 (0)4 50 74 01 55 to request transport. The service does not take reservations, so call when you’re ready to leave. Information about transport within the resort.
Prefer to carry your luggage yourself?
Luggage sledges are available at various points around the resort. You can use one to make your own way to the welcome area and car parks. Bring a euro coin or token to release a sledge, and ask the welcome staff where to find the one nearest your residence.
