Visit ofthe Battante

Established in 2010, the association ‘La Battante Morzinoise’ dedicated itself to the reconstruction and restoration of the Albert Richard sawmill from 1914, including its water wheel, on the Dérêches site in Morzine, to enable visits to the location. Over ten years were required to successfully complete this project, involving stages such as construction, engineering, restoration, and reassembly. This initiative was the result of a fruitful collaboration between the town of Morzine and the volunteers of ‘La Battante.’ Their commitment revitalized this facility that was threatened with extinction.

Discover the craftsmanship and memories of the sawyers from the Aulps Valley.
