The Resort of Avoriaz 1800 is located in Haute-Savoie in the Northern Alps, or more specifically, in the Chablais mountain range.
Perched 1,800 metres above sea level, the resort offers stunning views of the Aulps valley and provides a gateway to one of the world’s largest cross-border ski areas, Les Portes du Soleil. Avoriaz 1800 is easy to reach via Cluses (D907 and D902 roads) or Thonon-les-Bains (road D902).

The vehicle-free resort of Avoriaz has 2 entry points, each with a car park:

The « Route d’Avoriaz » is the D338 road which takes you straight up to the Avoriaz Resort Reception (« Accueil Station« ) and car park area. On arrival, head directly for the unloading area to empty your car before leaving it in the car park.
- The Prodains Express cable car is a quick way to reach the resort (4 minutes) from the Morzine valley. Park on the outdoor car park just next door.
Car parks
Avoriaz 1800 is a car-free resort where the streets become ski slopes in winter, much to the delight of holidaymakers. There are several different options for parking your car.
Prodains cable car
Located down in the Morzine valley, the Prodains Express cable car takes you to the resort of Avoriaz 1800 in just 4 minutes. You'll find an outdoor car park right next to the cable car.
OURADVICE
- Check the weather report and traffic conditions before you leave.
- Don’t forget winter car equipment: tyre chains, spikes, sleeves or snow tyres. In some cases these are compulsory when it snows. Make sure the equipment is easy to reach within your vehicle and that you also have a pair of gloves nearby. As soon as the conditions require, stop on a car park or at one of the designated chain-fitting areas.
- Remember to take water and snacks with you, and to stop for breaks along the way.
