Avoriaz 1800 is located in the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area, one of the largest cross-border ski areas in the world, encompassing 12 resorts in France and Switzerland.

The resort provides an incredible playground for skiers, with 650 km of pistes suitable for all levels of ability. Enjoy mountain- and border-hopping.

PLATEAU & PROCLOU

Level of difficulty : Beginner

These are areas designed for beginners. These two sectors, which can be reached from Avoriaz, have ‘beginner’ areas as well as countless green and blue runs to allow you to improve at your own pace. Not to be missed: The LIL’STASH. LIL’STASH.

JEAN VUARNET SLOPE

Level of difficulty : Red Run  

This run is named after the famous downhill skiing champion who founded the resort of Avoriaz. The slope measures over 1,000 metres in length and has already been approved for World Cup races by the International Ski Federation. Excitement is guaranteed.

Access : From the Avoriaz 1800 ski area, Arare sector.

Level of difficulty : DBeginner to Expert  

There are four fun areas that cater to different abilities. The experts at Avoriaz Snowzone go out of their way to be creative and inventive to provide maximum fun for both young and old.

LES SNOWCROSS

Level of difficulty : Intermediate to Expert

There are 5 routes in Avoriaz identified by specific signs for anyone wanting to try out freeriding. These ungroomed pistes offer skiers and snowboarders all the excitement of powder snow in complete safety.

L’ABRICOTINE SLOPE

Level of difficulty : Blue Run

This is a piste 8 km in length that starts on the summits of the Swiss border, providing a breathtaking view. The piste then snakes its way along to the village of Les Lindarets, passes through the village itself, and ends at the bottom of the valley. Its fruity name (‘abricot’ means ‘apricot’ in French) comes from the famous alcohol of the same name from Valois.

LE MUR SUISSE

Level of difficulty : Black Run

Or the Pas de Chavanette. This piste has an impressive slope of almost 90% and is reserved for experienced skiers. It is located in the Champéry-Les Crosets ski area in Switzerland, and a Portes du Soleil ski pass is required.
