Parking and access to Avoriaz

On certain high-traffic days, the Avoriaz resort implements a specific organization to ensure a smooth and safe welcome for everyone.

This page explains the parking procedure put in place when car parks are full or under heavy demand, as well as the solutions provided to make your arrival at the resort easier.

Map and procedure:

Procedure:

When visitor numbers are high, access to Avoriaz remains progressive and closely managed. Resort staff and law enforcement officers are on site to guide you to the appropriate parking areas.

1. You are a resident, holidaymaker or property owner

If you are a resident or have accommodation in Avoriaz (for at least one night):

  • You may access the resort following the usual procedure.
  • If the covered car park is full and you do not have a prior reservation, parking remains available in the resort’s outdoor car parks.

In case of access control, you may be asked to present proof. Please make sure to keep it with you and easily accessible as you approach Avoriaz.

2. You are a day visitor

When visitor numbers are high, the following procedure applies:

  • Prodains car park full: visitors are redirected to the Ardent car park.
  • Ardent car park full: the car parks in Avoriaz are gradually filled.
  • Avoriaz car parks full: a parking plan is implemented around the Ferme de Seraussaix and along the Avoriaz road up to the Col de Joux Verte.

In this situation, the parking plan is activated and access control is put in place. We ask you to slow down and stop in front of the resort staff, who will indicate where you should go.

Shuttle services and access to the ski area

Free shuttle buses run regularly between the resort reception area and the parking zones from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

If you already have your ski equipment, you can access the ski area directly from these parking areas, in particular via the green run “Seraussaix.”

An automatic ticket machine is available at the departure of the Proclou chairlift (TSD) for purchasing ski passes or collecting passes booked online.

3. In the event of total saturation of the car parks

On exceptionally busy days, the resort may reach total saturation of its parking capacity.

In this case:

  • The gendarmerie or municipal police control access to the Avoriaz road.
  • Access to the climb up to Avoriaz may be temporarily blocked for day visitors.
  • Only residents with accommodation (minimum one night) are allowed to access the resort.
  • Visitors are informed:
      • Via road signage
      • On avoriaz.com, through a dedicated alert (pop-up)
      • On the resort’s WhatsApp channel
