Van 27 tot 30 december, tijdens de kerstfestiviteiten, nodigt Avoriaz je uit voor een highlinefestival in het hart van ons prachtige resort.

Voor deze gelegenheid zullen de organisatoren Benoit Brume, Raoul Getraud en het VVV-kantoor twee duizelingwekkende lijnen installeren:

• Een lijn van 250 meter die boven de afgrond hangt, tussen de Falaise en het Jean Vuarnet-plein
• Een lijn van 60 meter in het hart van het resort, net boven de hoofdstraat

The Organizers:

Benoit Brume: He walks where birds fly. An athlete and professional highliner, he is a former World Speed Champion and holds the world record for distance at 2700m. He is also the organizer of numerous highline events and shows in France.

Raoul Getraud: Photographer and artist, specialized in mountain and sports photography. He is exhibiting his collection “Les marcheurs de ciel” in Avoriaz. Come and discover the fascinating world of highline. Free access at the Avoriaz Tourist Office.

The Athletes:

Jordi Zhang 🇪🇸: Athlete and highline artist, Jordi specializes in freestyle lines. He has participated in many competitions around the world and will deliver a highline show with accordion.

Salomé Cholet 🇫🇷: Multiple highline champion and 2022 World Vice Champion. She creates new freestyle tricks. Come see her shows in the city center. Content creator (@salomefreestyle on TikTok).

Augustin Moinat 🇨🇦: Voormalig wereldrecordhouder Highline: 2,7 km. Een liefhebber van lange afstanden en alpine lijnen onder extreme omstandigheden. Je zult hem zien balanceren boven de leegte.

Zoé Sprungli 🇨🇭: An athlete passionate about the meditative aspect of the sport. Holder of the Swiss women’s distance record. She enjoys organizing beautiful projects to share with the community.

Thomas Faure 🇫🇷: He has been exploring the mountains since childhood, whether skiing or hiking, on cliffs or between them. Passionate about mountaineering, highlining offers him new spaces to explore, and he always enjoys the effort required to complete his projects. Setting up a highline is, for him, a coordination exercise, where the sense of teamwork extends between practitioners, leading to beautiful friendships.
