THE SUMMITS 

The Resort of Avoriaz 1800 is located in Haute-Savoie in the Northern Alps, or more specifically, in the Chablais mountain range.

Perched 1,800 metres above sea level, the resort offers stunning views of the Aulps valley and provides a gateway to one of the world’s largest cross-border ski areas, Les Portes du Soleil. Avoriaz 1800 is easy to reach via Cluses (D907 and D902 roads) or Thonon-les-Bains (road D902).

  • Geneva: 1hr 25mns
  • Annecy: 1hr 40mns
  • Dijon: 3hrs 30mns

The vehicle-free resort of Avoriaz has 2 entry points, each with a car park:

  • The « Route d’Avoriaz » is the D338 road which takes you straight up to the Avoriaz « Resort Reception » and car park area. On arrival, head directly for the unloading area to empty your car before leaving it in the car park.

  • The Prodains Express cable car is a quick way to reach the resort (4 minutes) from the Morzine valley. Park on the outdoor car park just next door.

Parkings

Avoriaz 1800 est un station piétonne et donc sans voitures. Ses rues se transforment en pistes de ski en hiver pour votre plus grand bonheur, plusieurs options de parkings s’offrent donc à vous afin de pouvoir garer votre véhicule. 

Téléphérique des Prodains

Situé en bas dans la vallée de Morzine, le téléphérique des Prodains Express permet de monter rapidement (4 min) dans la station d’Avoriaz 1800. Un parking découvert se situe à proximité immédiate.

OURADVICE

  • Check the weather report and traffic conditions before you leave.
  • Don’t forget winter car equipment: tyre chains, spikes, sleeves or snow tyres. In some cases these are compulsory when it snows. Make sure the equipment is easy to reach within your vehicle and that you also have a pair of gloves nearby. As soon as the conditions require, stop on a car park or at one of the designated chain-fitting areas.
  • Remember to take water and snacks with you, and to take breaks along the way.
