WELCOME TO THE "VILLAGE DES ENFANTS"

In a resort where the only vehicles are sleighs, children are kings in Avoriaz. In this ideal setting Annie Famose has designed and built the Village des Enfants, a leisure centre and ski & snowboard school that is approved by the "Jeunesse & Sport" government ministry. Situated in the heart of Avoriaz, the Village des Enfants welcomes children from the age of 3 from 9:00 am. to 5:30 pm.More than 100 instructors and supervisors are available to teach young skiers and to show them all that this exceptional resort has to offer.Children are offered lunch and tea in the Village restaurant and there are various après ski activities adapted to different age groups.

THE PLUS

Ski & snowboard lessons: from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. and from 1:30 pm. to 4:00 pm.
Afternoon snack and entertainment from 4pm to 5.30pm.
And for more convenience, Kids' Village presents Parents' School
Adult ski courses / snowboard with schedules adapted to kids' courses :
9.45-11.45 a.m. Or 1.45 -3.45 p.m.

ACTIVITIES FOR SMALL CHILDREN

Introduction to skiing,from the age of three: a child will get used to his or her first skis, become self sufficient, and discover all the fun of the snow. Annie Famose and her team have developed an original teaching method based on the use of games.The teaching team share the pleasure of sliding on safe, comfortable, terrain to the theme of cartoon characters ; 25 acres of fenced and controlled pistes that have been specially developed for children (slides and bumps, mini tracks, coloured runs, small jumps… ). There is a moving carpet and a beginners teleski.

Après ski activities:The Village des Enfants offers numerous activities :Dolls, reading, drawing, theatre, films, dressing-up and face painting, shows…in a superb chalet that is perfectly equipped and set-up for small children.

NEW PROGRAMME - LEARN TO SNOWBOARD IN THE RIGLET PARK!

What is the Riglet park? A snowy play zone designed to introduce children from 3 years old to snowboarding!

The Riglet park in the Children's Village  will change the dynamic of the snowboard lesson and opens up more possibilities for younger riders than ever before! Composed of small hills,miniature rails, and pyramids, youngsters will  learn how find their balance, and finally learn how to ride, while having fun!

ACTIVITIES FOR OLDER CHILDREN / ADOLESCENTS

Introduction to skiing
Introduction to skiing and to the pleasure of snow sports through specific exercises (small bumps, straight runs with obstacles, etc.) The new skier will be taught a balanced stance on their skis. He will learn to use the teleski, and quickly begin to make turns through easy courses (poles, cones, hoops, banked turns, etc).

Bronze level
Courses aimed at children who have already skied for at least one week. Improvement on a closed piste through specific exercises (bumps, slalom courses, whoop-de-doos, small jumps) that mimic the challenges found out on the pistes. Also discover the blue runs of the resort of Avoriaz and learn the safety rules.

Silver, Vermeil, Gold and Platinum levels
For good skiers who need to progress towards Competition level. Progressively the young skier will extend his range, improve his technique and his independence by alternating training in slalom courses and by exploring the resort. Depending on the skier’s level, he will explore different areas within the 650km of pistes that make up Avoriaz and the Portes du Soleil. On the programme: Picnics, games, parallel slalom and jumping competitions, different snow conditions, powder, and training for the different ski tests.

Ski competition classes (From 8 years old):

Slalom course: a training course in preparation for Special and Giant slaloms with video training and timing. At the end of the week, take the official  tests.

Freeride course: Enjoy carving turns on the steep slopes of the Portes du Soleil, flying through the bumps, and making your first aerial tricks between snow and sky. Each skier will be given an evaluation of his level at the end of the week.

Introductory course: For those who love wide open spaces and nature lovers who would like to ski a different part of the international resort the “Portes du Soleil” on each day of their holiday. Day trips, picnics, and visits to the summits in France and Switzerland.

Multi-Snow sports course : A course for competition level skiers who would like to try new snow sports. In the mornings competition training and official special and giant slalom tests. In the afternoons, introduction and improvement on snowboards.

THE SNOWBOARD VILLAGE (8-16 YEARS OLD)

The Snowboard Village is the ideal place to learn to snowboard for 8-16 years olds, without competing for space with skiers, in complete safety:
