After the incredible success of his 1st album, Christophe Maé will be back in Châtel on the 19th of March for an outdoor accoustic concert with 4 musicians.
Serving up pure rock n roll since their first gig, irrepressibly inventive and massively experienced - and not forgetting their totally mind-blowing new album "Long Courrier"- ,BB Brunes keep it real with each and every new LP. Running through all their work is the same personal touch and growing maturity. The album, "Long courrier" features 12 in-your-face tracks as ethereal as they are nostalgic and poetic, but at the same time shot-through with electro-pop and pumped up with the all the energy of a brand new sound. The catchy and lively riff running through "Coups et Blessures" is as hard to shake off as any good track should be, just like "Prince", laying the groundwork for something tantalisingly bigger still to come, as the album's title suggest. In fact, it has even more universal appeal than the group 's first two albums and could be said to be a new musical departure for BB Brunes that fans old and new can get their critical teeth into. If there's newmusical surprises in "Lonf Courrier", their latest offering, there is no doubt there is more to come soon..so come and find out at the start of the Rock the Pistes Festival!
It all began several years ago with
Carving, a punk group that forged a great reputation in the North of France,
and not just because of its leader-singer-composer-bouncer (in that order, or
some other). From Carving, Skip The Use was born in 2008. This new line-up very
quickly began to make its mark by breathing its punk fury into rock and metal
riffs, spiced up with electro beats and other disco/hip hop influences. Their
new album “Can Be Late” came out in February 2012, whose title track, Ghost, is
played on all the radios. They took part in Victory of the Music 2012, for
which they were nominated in the category “Group or artist stage revelation of
the year”.

After a trip to the USA in 1999, Jennifer Ayache was looking for musicians to form a group. She met Michel Giovannetti, a guitarist, and François Even, a bass player, who already knew each other from another group, and formed a new band. They started as a three-piece before 2 other members joined the two later replaced by Guillaume Rousse (on drums) and Patrice Focone (on guitar). Rousse quit the band in 2005 and was replaced by Greg Jacks.
The band got its name from the Latin word "Superbus" meaning ‘proud’ when singer Jennifer Ayache stumbled upon the word while browsing a Latin dictionary.
Superbus' style is reminiscent of a broad spectrum of tapes from No Doubt to Weezer, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Sublime.
In 2002, Superbus released their debut album Aéromusical. Pop'n'Gum, the band's second album, was released in 2004. Produced by David Salsedo from Silmarils in 2005, it won the best French team’s stay at the MTV Europe Music Awards. Superbus also debuted in Guitar Hero III with their song Radio Song, which featured as an unlockable bonus track. According to the Sikoras, Superbus are the founders of 'girl noise garage rock', a genre where garage rock mixed with girl noise.
In 2006, the band released its third Wow album, which reached number 6 in the French album charts.
One year later, Superbus released their first DVD, Superbus Live in Paris, featuring video from one-and-a-half years’ touring.

CARAVAN PALACE -MARCH 23- 1.30 PM - MORGINS

It all started with a double bassist, a guitarist and a violinist, all very talented musicians who are truly into the swing, Django addicts who enjoy tinkering with electro. Consisting of a singer, a clarinetist, a trombone player who doubles up on percussion, and a guitarist who also works as a DJ with their "Zazou" look (inspired by Paris Paleo-punks from the 1940s), they serve up festive frenetic music with an improbable futuristic and melodious Charleston that fills the dance floor. Caravan Palace is to swing what the Gotan Project is to tango.
It often starts this way: a bunch of friends who've kicked around together for the last ten years, each bringing their own type of music, in this case Hugues on violin, Arnaud on guitar and, on bass, Carlospå. A shared passion for jazz Manouche (Gypsy-style jazz) played in the wildest bars, a relatively serious composition with a Zeitgeist twist: DIY electro house dub and hip hop.
